Is food, body and weight issues ruling your life?
I’m Shauna Gibson if you answered yes to this question I can help you?
I help your work with your mind, emotions, and behaviours when it comes to change
I am an eating psychology coach, I coach on issues relating to food, body and weight issues using psychological tools. I help you transform from the inside out. Are you one of those people who say “I know what to do if I could just do it”, or “if I could get my head sorted in relation to food, body and weight then I would achieve the results I want”. That’s where I come in I help you work with your mind and emotions to have a different result in your body, a different relationship with food.
My Personal Story
I am a mother to two beautiful children (I’m biased I know), a wife, a dog lover, amateur runner at our local running club (that I helped set up and now coach at), book club member (yes we do read books and yes wine is involved), chocolate lover and I am passionate about helping people be the very best version of themselves. As a late teenager I joined my first slimming club (with not a lot of weight to lose) this was a pattern I repeated throughout my 20s. My educational background is in business having studied a degree in Business Management and I opened my own bridal retail shops.
Over my time in retail I learnt a lot about woman. Mainly how obsessed woman were about their bodies and weight. How nearly every woman wanted a size smaller dress ordered and how they vowed to diet, shrink and change their bodies. Thinking back now it never ceased to amaze me that no matter what size of woman I was dressing very few actually loved and accepted themselves in their bodies.
A Slimming Consultant
A well renowned Slimming Organisation was launched for the first time in our local area. I was so used to counting everything I ate, and this was something different that I decided to give it a go. It gave more freedom around food which I liked, and I was so passionate about it that I became a consultant for them and ran groups for 7 years. During my time as a consultant, I witnessed many patterns, weight loss, weight gain, people who couldn’t lose any weight, people who could lose 7lb or 1 stone and no more, people who lost up to 10 stone and put it all back on. I saw how people become obsessed about food, about what to eat, when to eat, how much to eat, labelling food as good or bad. Always being on plan or off it with no in between. I saw the same, guilt and negativity they experienced about what they ate and how they felt about their bodies. People obsessed with the scales and defined their self-worth by that number. Overall I saw the absolute misery it caused a lot of people and how it ruled their life and I thought there must be a better way. Can you relate?
Dieting Doesn’t Work
I got great insight into how people thought and the behaviour patterns they ran when it comes to food and eating. Statistics show that 97% of people who lose weight put it back on within a 5 year period and this was something I witnessed first-hand in my years of running slimming groups. It prompted me to ask questions and about why this was happening and what else might be going on.

Love the Body You’re In! -A Mind – Body – Spirit Approach
From this, I have developed a programme called “Love the body You’re In”. This programme can help you move away from your current relationship with food and transform. Yes, obesity, food, weight, body issues are complex, there is no one answer and no quick fix. We are in a dieting culture and the truth is it is driving our weight as a population up. I don’t claim to have a magic wand or focus on transformation photographs of before or after. I don’t claim that you can drop a dress size in so many weeks. What I do offer is a programme of skills, skills to help you understand what got you here and why I offer your skills to help you manage your thinking around food so that you’re not preoccupied or obsessed, I help you manage and deal with emotions so you don’t need food to soothe you and ultimately look after yourself better physically in a loving way. I help you love yourself more physically, mentally and emotionally and it is in my experience that from that skill base a wonderful transformation can occur. A transformation that helps you break free from cycles of dieting and bingeing, that helps you thrive and flourish in life, one that will free up your energy that you have been using to focus on food and weight to one that allows you to be fulfilled, happier and healthier.
Join me for transformation that lasts a lifetime!
If you are reading this and thinking this is me, know that I love working with people just like you because it gives me the greatest pleasure in the world to see how you can let this go and truly transform towards being the very best version of yourself.
I can work with you in two ways through private one and one coaching or a group programme, both at my office in Belfast (Boucher Road). The group is a small group (no more than 12) of people who are just like you and committed to change.
